Verdient Foods was created to address the current and future global sustainable plant-based protein food demand. The operations will include a state-of-the-art, food grade, pulse crop processing facility based in Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.
Verdient Foods Inc. is in the heart of Saskatchewan’s pulse-crop production area.
Verdient Food’s focus will be value-added processing of extracting proteins, starches and fibres from Saskatchewan-produced pulse crops using a natural process. Plans for production capacity increases are already in place such that the production volumes are expected to increase to over 160,000 MT as Verdient Foods Inc. develops additional product lines in conjunction with research being undertaken along with the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre.
Verdient is now part of Ingredion’s plant-based proteins business and production infrastructure.
